Boston Dynamics Atlas Humanoid Robot is Disturbingly ‘Incredible’

Google’s robot outfit Boston Dynamics released a new video of their latest version of the humanoid robot Atlas. Watch below to reset your thinking of what robots can do today.

Boston Dynamics revealed a new version of Atlas, a humanoid robot that is designed to operate outdoors and inside buildings. Atlas is specialized for mobile manipulation says the Google owned robot company.

A new video shows Atlas opening a door and walk outside in a snowy forest. The movements are incredible human like. The robot even slips the same way humans do on snow.

In the video Atlas is also shown lifting boxes and place them into a shelf. In another scene a developer pushes Atlas over and he falls on his face. After a couple seconds he gets back up by itself.

Now if Atlas would get angry and charge at the guy with the stick, we would have reached the end of humankind and the robots take over.

The robot is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain, help with navigation and manipulate objects. This version of Atlas is about 5′ 9″ tall (about a head shorter than the DRC Atlas) and weighs 180 lbs.

Watch the amazing video of Atlas below.

Tesla is inviting product manufacturers to a “secret” unveiling of its new cell

An undisclosed company, which claims to be a “well-funded American company”, purchased advertising in the Wall Street Journal to invite a “select” group of people to the unveiling of its research and data on a new high-energy density battery cell.

The mysterious company is only inviting representatives from “product manufacturers listed on the NYSE or NASDAQ having a market capitalization of more than $500 million”. Investment bankers, venture capital companies, government representatives, or members of the press are not allowed to attend the event.

The company’s full-page ad redirects readers to a website called mooreslawbattery.com.

On the website, the company claims that battery performance could double every two years like computing, hence the name of the website. It also says that the company will be announcing a “new family of battery materials”.

The group shared two graphs about energy density and cyclability. It’s far from clear what the company plans to reveal based on these charts, but it looks like we are looking at gravimetric energy density over 300 Wh/kg. In comparison, Tesla’s cells are believed to be around 240 Wh/kg.

But of course energy density is not all. The cells need to be able to withstand thousands of cycles without major degradation, have decent power density and of course have the potential to scale at a reasonable cost.

During an investor conference with Baron last year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk described how the company rates new battery technology developments:

“At this point we have quite a good understanding of all the battery technologies in the world. Right now, we track about 60 different efforts around the world to develop improved batteries and some of them hold some long-term promise. We rate all of them from one to five, where five is we should be doing business with them and one is complete BS.”

At the time, Musk said there were no four or fives, but there were some threes, and some might eventually be promoted to fours.

I really hope ‘Moores Battery’ turns out to have an interesting product, but my fear is that when you have an interesting product, you don’t really need to work that hard to create hype about it with a full-page ad in the Journal without even having a product yet, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

The company didn’t disclose the date or location of the event, but it said it will be held in early April 2016. April Fools anyone ( via electrek.co )?

France Moves to Make ‘Conspiracy Theories’ Illegal From Now On. Free Speech Surpressed

The French government has announced ‘war’ on the spreading of conspiracy theories in schools, saying that they believe conspiracies to give fuel to extremists who seek to radicalize young people.

Authorities in France are desperately trying to battle the radicalization of young people in the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks, even though a significant portion of French people do not believe the official version of the story.

Thelocal.fr reports: Education Minister Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (pictured below) spent Tuesday hosting a conference on the topic of fighting the spread of conspiracies at schools. The all-day conference, held at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, saw around 300 people in attendance, including students, teachers, psychologists and lawyers.

The aim is to start a discussion about the dangers of conspiracy theories, especially after terror attacks set tongues wagging in French school yards over the past year.

One group of 16-year-olds told the BFM TV channel that there was something “fishy”, for example, about the death of the policeman during last January’s terror attacks. “You can’t see any blood in the video,” said a boy called Julien. “He gets a bullet through the head but there’s no blood – only dust?” Other popular conspiracy theories include: And it’s exactly these kinds of rumours the government wants to crack down on, fearing that pupils take the conspiracies seriously because they’re easy to find online.

Rudy Reichstadt, who started the French site “Conspiracy Watch“, said that theories are spreading far quicker than ever before. “Teenagers have always been fascinated by the mysteries. But before, they’d have to go out and buy a book about it,” toldLe Figaro newspaper: A key problem is that many conspiracy sites online don’t actively advertise that they’re just speculations, meaning young people are more likely to believe that what they’re reading is true and isn’t just a theory, he added.

Tuesday’s conference will focus on how to get students to think twice before believing and indeed sharing such rumours. And in a bid to engage the young audience, officials have launched a website with more information called “We’re manipulating you” (On te manipule) and set up a SnapChat account, broadcasting video snippets on the topic to anyone who wants to watch.

“Together we will build a suitable response, which will break the students’ fascination with conspiracy theories and which will be based on the long-time strengths of schooling: rigour, reflection, thought and knowledge,” she said ( via topinfopost.com ).

Fluoride Officially Classified as a Neurotoxin in World’s Most Prestigious Medical Journal

The movement to remove industrial sodium fluoride from the world’s water supply has been growing in recent years, with evidence coming out against the additive from several sources.

Now, a report from the world’s oldest and most prestigious medical journal, The Lancet, has officially classified fluoride as a neurotoxin — in the same category as arsenic, lead and mercury.

The news was broken by author Stefan Smyle, who cited a report published in The Lancet Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 3, in the March 2014 edition, by authors Dr. Phillippe Grandjean and Philip J. Landrigan, MD. The report, which was officially released in 2014 and published in the journal.

Fluoride Classified Along with Mercury, Lead and Others As noted in the summary of the report, a systematic review identified five different similar industrial chemicals as developmental neurotoxicants: lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, arsenic, and toluene.

The summary goes on to state that six additional developmental neurotoxicants have also now been identified: manganese, fluoride, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, and the polybrominated diphenyl ethers.

The authors added that even more of these neurotoxicants remain undiscovered. Also in the report, they note that neurodevelopmental disabilities, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and other cognitive impairments, are now affecting millions of children worldwide in what they call a “pandemic of developmental neurotoxicity.”

Because of the documented health risks of fluoride, many people have launched campaigns to remove the chemical from their water supplies, to varying degrees of success. Such initiatives usually begin through the are often controversial and emotionally charged because of the reputation fluoride still enjoys among mainstream dentistry practitioners. In addition to fluoride in city water supplies, the substance can also be found in certain foods, especially in heavily processed brands of tea that may be grown in polluted areas.

If you’ve ever noticed the warnings on toothpaste labels you probably know just how serious fluoride poisoning can be, especially for children if they swallow too much at one time. Because of this threat, many parents have begun eschewing fluoridated toothpaste brands altogether and are using more natural brands such as Earthpaste, Desert Essence, Uncle Harry’s Toothpaste Dr. Bronner’s toothpaste line, or even making their own from a combination of ingredients such as coconut oil, organic neem leaf powders, essential oils like peppermint or cinnamon, and other natural ingredients.

The fluoride added to our water supply is mostly seen as a cumulative toxin that accumulates in our bodies and can manifest itself in problems over time, including dental fluorosis, or far worse health problems.

In the Lancet report, the authors propose a global prevention strategy, saying that “untested chemicals should not be presumed to be safe to brain development, and chemicals in existing use and all new chemicals must therefore be tested for developmental neurotoxicity.”

They continue: “To coordinate these efforts and to accelerate translation of science into prevention, we propose the urgent formation of a new international clearinghouse.” The report coincides with 2013 findings by a Harvard University meta-analysis funded by the National Institutes of Health that concluded that children in areas with highly fluoridated water have “significantly lower” IQ scores that those who live in areas with low amounts of fluoride in their water supplies. Sodium fluoride in drinking water has also been linked to various cancers.

It is functionally different than the naturally-occurring calcium fluoride, and commonly added to drinking water supplies and used by dentists who posit that it is useful for dental health. Currently, fluoride is added to water supplies across much of North America, but as this list of countries that ban or reject water fluoridation shows, the practice is actually not too common, or banned entirely throughout most of Europe and in several other developed nations across the world.

Since most places in America still add fluoride to the water a high quality water filter is recommend to filter out the fluoride, and it can be especially important to avoid exposing yourself to too much fluoride in your daily shower or bath ( via humansarefree.com ).

Ancient Gnostic texts: Earth is ruled by an interplanetary race known as Archons

Mentioned in the ancient Gnostic texts of the Nag Hammadi people which predate Christianity, the mysterious invading alien beings known as Archons have since been quietly hidden from “history”. But, like all thought provoking knowledge, it has stood the test of time and made its way through the cracks and presents scholars, historians and all researchers alike, with one of the most probable and credible theories in relation to life and what is going on in our world and “reality” today.

In 1947, ancient texts were found in Nag Hammadi in Egypt. On these ancient texts, dating back more than 2,000 years ago, was the story of life as preached and believed by the Nag Hammadi people. The reason why these incredible texts are so important is that absolutely no one has manipulated them that we know about. They have not been altered or destroyed or edited like the Bible. The texts were buried in a deep cave in Egypt, demonstrating that they were valued. Could this be the ultimate truth? Could this help us, a species lost without knowledge of its true origins, finally figure out what’s going on?

Over 2,000 years ago, there was a religion on this planet called Gnosticism, which was the biggest religion on earth at the time. Interestingly, this religion has all but disappeared and is hardly even mentioned, if at all, in University courses on the study of religion. The Nag Hammadi texts provide us with a thorough description of what the Gnostics believed though, which was that freedom could only be achieved through pure knowledge. The legendary library at Alexandria was actually run by Gnostics. Their culture spread throughout most of Europe and the Middle East. This becomes even more interesting and significant because this religion predates the major Westerns religions outside of Judaism, which itself was almost only found in Israel.

The Gnostics preached that there was a major planetary invasion in roughly 3,600 BC. Planet Earth was invaded by mysterious and ruthless beings known as Archons. These creatures had the ability to create and illusory “reality”, to manipulate us and enslave us. Why did they do this? It is said they were jealous of us because we have a soul, that they simply do not possess. We have imagination which makes us creative and they do not. According to the texts, some of them looks like a reptilian like creature and the other looks like a fetus. This fetus is alive but not. It has grey skin and dark immobile eyes.

The reason why these beings create illusions for us and try to control us through the control of “reality” is because they actually feed off of our negative energy and exploitation. So not only do they want to use our imagination and creativity against us, to create a “reality” for themselves at our expense, but we actually nourish them whenever we engage in violence, hatred, envy, aggression and perversion, among other things, which are said to stimulate and excite them. Basically, they hate peace, they hate happiness and they want to keep us vibrating at a very low frequency because it powers them.

Because we have been flooded by other religious traditions, this may sound absurd to those who are unfamiliar with it. But, do the stories we have been told really make sense? We are pretty much told to believe in a God who is vengeful and if we do not obey him, we will be banished to eternal punishment and torment. We are also told that our rewards are waiting after this life and, despite injustice thriving on this planet, the “evil” will be punished later on too? This sounds to me like ancient propaganda to allow those in power to continue without protest or resistance. On the other hand, the Gnostic teachings resonate with exactly what is going on in our world today ( via ewao.com ).

You can watch, and learn more, about these ancient beings in the video below and what exactly could possibly be going on in our world today;
